Designed to be lighter and longer to produce faster clubhead speed for more ball speed and greater distance. By reducing the clubhead weight, adding a 43g Miyazaki C. Kua Ultralite shaft, and even adding a Lamkin SUPERLITE grip, the SL270 produces a driver that is only 290g (average driver is approximately 315g). The SL290 is lighter than the Cleveland Launcher TL310 and slightly heavier than the Cleveland Launcher XL270.
